EURAXESS UK is coordinating a webinar focusing on public engagement and science communication, with contributions from inspirational individuals showcasing international opportunities through programmes connected to the UK.
In this webinar we will consider:
- The international perspective and global researcher mobility – can doing more public engagement and science communication broaden your perspective and experiences?
- Recent developments – What is on offer regarding resources, new opportunities and support?
- Personal perspective – Has engaging in science communication and public engagement with science helped researchers’ skills and career development, or changed their perspective?

Speakers include:
- Yasna Najmi - People’s Choice Winner of the Vitae Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition 2022; Currently in the process of acquiring Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from department of Pharmacology from Ulster University focusing on Dental Implants in collaboration with College of Medicine and Dentistry.
- Dmitry Kopelyanskiy – FameLab Switzerland winner 2018 and International Finalist. With a PhD in immunology from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland he now working as a Project Manager with HAYA Therapeutics
- Christina Melidou – Senior Partnership Manager & Healthcare Lead at FutureLearn, a global online learning platform. Christina was previously theTEDxThessaloniki Programme Team & Speakers' Curator and is an alumni of the Famelab competition having been the Greece national champion.
The webinar will overview freely available opportunities and support for researchers and institutions, including Vitae, a non-profit programme that is part of the Careers Research & Advisory Centre (CRAC) Ltd; FameLab International® created by Cheltenham Festivals, the Three Minute Thesis Competition® developed by the University of Queensland and EURAXESS UK.
Open to all international researchers, those working in Higher Education and anyone with an interest in global science communication/public engagement.
