A EURAXESS UK webinar on Career Choices - Researchers Beyond Academia

----Registration for this event has now closed. This event will not be recorded----

For international and UK based researchers. Plus research managers.

Dr Alina Congreve, a trainer with Vitae, part of the Careers Research Advisory Centre (CRAC) will lead this 90 minute session, to encourage participants to consider the career choices open to researchers beyond academia. It is particularly useful to early career researchers who are planning their immediate and medium-term future.

The workshop will:

  • Explore the career paths and destinations of researchers outside of higher education
  • Advise how to find and identify opportunities.
  • Encourage participants to consider their own career drivers and how their research-developed skills and attributes can be transferred to a range of career options.

By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer understanding of:

  • Career options available to post-doctoral researchers
  • Have explored some tools to assist them in considering their own next steps
  • Built their confidence to communicate their skills to employers beyond academia

If you have accessibility issues (for example, a hearing or visual impairment) and would require assistance to attend the webinar, then please email EuraxessUK@britishcouncil.org in good time, so we can discuss your requirements and make the necessary arrangements for you to attend.

Registration questions will be used to produce statistics, your personal details will not be shared with organisations other than EURAXESS and British Council.
